Recently there was a rather large incident regarding the unjust bans of several sub members and the impeachment of one of our council members. In order to ensure that the public remains informed, I’ve taken it upon myself to host an AMA so that people can clarify the matter. I also personally apologize for any duress brought unto the sub, while it was not my fault, you all are still owed an apology and explanation, which I intend to deliver. Other council members feel free to hop-in, please still feel free to ask your questions even if the AMA is marked as finished.

How are you and other council members working to prevent a situation like this from occuring again and how can the rest of us help?

OP
I’m going to be transparent, currently there isn’t a plan in place. We’ve only just gotten unbanned and at this hour a lot of us aren’t active, so discussions haven’t begun yet.
I personally think that we need to establish a more balanced system where the council and mods are separate and/or where there’s still a means to keep mods in check.
I think the best way for you, the people, to help would be suggesting ways you think this situation could have been prevented and keeping the morale of the sub high. Lets interact beyond the politics, there have been a lot of incidents lately and I think it would be to the benefit of everyone to take a breather.

I appreciate the honest response and will try to come with ideas to improve morale as suggested

I’m not a council member, but I made a bill I think will help

Is the current council planning any changes, in response to this tragedy?

OP
I think that effective immediately Mod perms have been taken from Due_Job and instilled in SomWan instead, obviously the council needs to have a discussion about what went wrong here so that we can better be prepared next time, and while we’ve not done that yet due to schedules/timezones, I hope that once we have figured out where to go from here we will be able to share that with the sub.
